Bonsoir, people who read my blog (you know who you are)! Long time no update the diary section of my website, jesus. I have a lot to update. The trouble was, the longer I took to update, the more I wanted to talk about, and the more I wanted to talk about, the more energy I knew I would need to actually write. I don't particularly like the process of writing about myself, but I do like how it feels after I've finished said writing, so I do it despite he process itself being a challenge. I don't really like talking about myself, or knowing other people are reading about me, but it does feel good to express things to other people, rather than just keeping it to myself. So, here I am! Time to talk about me!
I now know enough lua to be able to comfortably say I can code in lua, and made some basic stuff in it (not that I can get it to work with vs codium, I'm still just using zero brane as an IDE). I still prefer writing things in python, but lua is fun! Once I get the chance, I'm gonna start making some games for PICO-8, and then start putting them on my website (since they should be tiny enough to make the file space a non-issue). I also wanna learn C++ and C, and assembly, since once I learn C I can start taking my interest in operating systems to actual development rather than just thinking they're neat. I also think it would be VERY funny if me, a person who works in psychology, has a degree in psychology, and only codes for fun, knows more languages than my boyfriend, who does research in computer science. I also think it would be very funny to be able to say that "yeah I can use and install Arch, but I daily drive debian" and "yeah I can code in C++, but I mostly code in Python". The idea of being fully capable of being one of the elitists, but deciding "nah, I'm gonna use the normie thing" is so fun. Ideally I would use Ubuntu as my daily driver, but I don't really like Ubuntu that much (certainly not more than debian), but I'm not that committed to the bit.
In other news, I quit my job, which was gratifying. I have another job lined up, its nice.
In other other news, family member who is an alcoholic has been sober for the past month! Epic!
In other other other news, got a new lappy! I wanted to have an all-metal chasse thinkpad that has a touch screen, so I got the yoga 260. Is awesome! My new favorite laptop, beating out my t470s, and the 2015 Macbook Ait. Sure, the build quality isn't as good as the macbook, and the specs aren't as good as the t470s, but I just love having a touch screen, and the build quality i sjust that little bit better than the t470s. And the specs and keyboard are FAR better than the Macbook. That being said, evetually I will one day buy a laptop that is even close to being modern, but using light weight distros means that I just don't need anything that fast.
I'm sure I have more to say, but I can't think of what it was, so that's all, love y'all!!
