Hey guys!! This will be a relatively quick update. Just wanted to mention that I'm gonna be going to VCF East this weekend, and I am so hype about it!!!!! In terms of PCs I'm on the look out for: I'm keeping an eye out for old-ish thinkpads and lappies that I can clean up, but am mostly excited for the displays and talks!!!
Other than that, I fixed up and brought my debian workstation downstairs so I can hangout with my doggie when I'm at home on my PC, and also set up a minecraft server for me and my friends, so fun!!! I also am making progress on a game in Python that I'm gonna be hush-hush on until I have an alpha build that I can upload to the site for y'all to play.
I've also made progress with my linux distro. And by progress, I mean I totally abandoned my previous work, because I didn't like it and it felt pointless, and now I'm reworking it entirely from the ground up. The new plan is to make a linux distro that does nothing but boots into a text editor/word processor, depending on how much work I plan on putting into it, so I can make a proper type write OS. I thought about learning C or something to just write the OS from scratch, but why do that when I can just use the preexisting linux kernel and I am lazy? These are the real questions. For now, the extent to my progress on just writing the OS from scratch is lurking on the OSdev forums to see what other people are doing, so I am almost certainly just going to make an insanely torn down linux distro.
