No, but he is an anarcho-primitivist: An introduction

I thought it would be funny to consider what each iteration of the King of the Monsters would politically as a fun little game. My blog has been fairly serious, doom and gloom lately, and I think it could use some much needed levity. So, I will be going through each incarnation of Godzilla in chronological order, and state where I believe they would stand politically, and provide my reasoning. I will only consider each Godzilla as we see them in their final appearance on screeen--this is for the sake of simplicity, since some Godzillas (namely the second Showa Godzilla after the original), changes wildly from his first appearance to his last. I will also only be including mainline film and TV appearances, so no Snow Godzilla or his ilk. Finally, I will also be making up some of these political orientations for the sake of this task being inherently silly. Hopefully you find it as funny as I do!

Godzilla, 1954:Anarcho-primitivist/eco-anarchism

Godzilla 1954 seeks revenge against Japan, and the rest of humanity for the creation of the Atom bomb. In the film itself, it is implied that he was scarred, but not killed, by atomic testing done by the United States, and as a result, wants to destroy human civilization and return to a primitive earth before technology. To do this, he destroys Tokyo, attempting to do away with any and all signs of civilization. For this reason, I place him as an eco-terrorist who alligns himself with anarcho-primitivism, and eco-anarchism, hoping to end civilization. He would probably love Ted Kaczynski.

Showa Godzilla (1955-1975): Ecological Humanism

Showa Godzilla undergos a considerable change, and I'd argue growth, throughout his time as King of the Monsters. Starting similar to his senior '54 Godzilla, Showa attacks humanity and those that protect it for what they've done to him and his species. Ultimately, however, through the efforts of Kaiju such as Mothra and her Shobijin, he grows fond of humanity, becoming it and civilization's protector. Moreover, he takes a role of environmentalist, fighting to protect the earth from polution in Godzilla V.S. Hedorah, as well as from forces that would seek to harm the earth and humanity specifically, such as the aliens from the M Space Hunter Nebula, the Xiliens, and the Black Hole Aliens. Thus, he cares deeply not only for the environment, but for humanity at large, making him an Ecological Humanist in philosophy and politics.

Heisei Godzilla (1984-1995): Ancap

Heisei Godzilla cares about 4 things: Me, Myself, I, and his son Junior, humanity, earth, cosmos be damned. He attacks humanity, but because he damn well pleases it, and he protects humanity only when it serves the end of protecting him and his family. Sure, he acts as the hero in the end, but only because his son is in danger, and he would just as easily watch humanity and the rest of the planet burn if it meant he could protect his son. Because of that, I can't see him as being anything other than an anarcho-capitalist, or ancap. A libertarian in the American sense, through and through, surely seen waving a "don't tread on me" flag as sure as he is to destroy Hong Kong right before his own death. Selfish? Perhaps. Society doesn't matter to him, only his family. But you can't deny him at least that: he loves his son.

Godzilla Junior: Social Democrat/Democratic Socialist

Having had a telepathic connection to humanity since his birth, and having grown up around humans, Godzilla Junior has a love and care for humanity that his father doesn't. As a result, he cares deeply for their fate, and cares about their wants and needs, going as far as to fight for them, and protect them from Destoroyah, to his own peril. Because of this, I think he would be a Democratic Socialist or Social Democrat, fighting for humanity and democracy even after being reborn in the atomic energy of his dead father.

Godzilla 1998: Transgender Centrism

Man, all he wants to do is grill and be left alone with his kids. A trans guy (gets pregnant and has babies in his movie, but is exclusively referred to with he/him pronouns), so he cares deeply for the plight of his fellow trans Kaiju, and wants to make a home for him and his family in the big city of New York, and be left alone. He doesn't care about humanity, other Kaiju, or any issues besides his own, and just wants to grill in peace, but those damn New Yorks just had to go and shoot him to death. The bastards. Anyway, he just wants to be left alone, so I'm calling him a centrist who just wants to grill.

Godzilla Junior from Godzilla The Series: Anarcho-syndicalist

Much like Godzilla Junior of the Heisei series, Godzilla Junior from the animated series was raised around humans (in fact he was raised BY a human), so he cares for humanity, and wants to protect it at all costs, even revolutionary ends, such as overthrowing an authoritarian alien government which took control of the world. Because of this, I think he would be a revolutionary Anarcho-Syndicalist. You may be wondering what makes him specifically an anarcho-syndicalist as opposed to any other kind of revolutionary leftism. That is a great question! Anyway, on to the next Godzilla.

Godzilla 2000 Millenium: Objectivist

Godzilla 2000 only cares about himself, but unlike Heisei Godzilla, lacks a son to give a shit about. So, he attacks nuclear sites to feed, and destroys cities for sport. When earth is attacked by aliens, he gladly kills them to protect his property, but once he's done, he goes right back to wrecking shit because he just does not give a shit about anything but his own wants. Also he's an edgy atheist, just look as his design, he's all edges all the time.

Godzilla from Godzilla V.S. Megaguirus (2000): Objectivist again

Pretty much the same as Godzilla 2000, except this time he is stronger by virtue of surviving a fucking black hole gun (long story). Not much else to say then if he was a nicer Kaiju, he would make for a great protector, but as it stands, he is just a selfish bastard.

GMK Godzilla (2001): Fascist/Nazi

Bro is evil. He wants to genocide humanity because he is pure hatred, and he's willing to mass-murder the Guardian Monsters if they get in his way. He's angry because Japan was evil during WWII, so he is taking his seething hatred of the Japanese people, and turning it towards mass genocide of the rest of humanity. He's a Nazi, and unfortunately, he's an extremely powerful one. Fortunately for humanity, they beat him once, so if and when he comes back from that still beating heart at the bottom of the sea, they will be ready.

Godzilla from Against Mechagodzilla and Tokyo SOS (2002-2003): Anarchic terrorist or Anarcho-Nihilist

Some men just want to watch the world burn. And sometimes, those men are actually giant monsters from pre-history. He doesn't care abotu society, or people, or anything, he just wants to destroy it all and watch the fire rage on. Even as Mothra (who if you'd like to know is an eco-humanist like Showa Godzilla), and even the original Godzilla (who has become a democratic socialist in his old and robotic age) try to stop him, even going as far as to permanently scar his chest (being the OG as controlled by humans as Kiryu). Still, he can't stop humanity and its protectors, and he is defeated, just as his philosophy and politics are self-defeating.

Godzilla, Final Wars (2004): Reformed Anarcho-Primitivist, and centrist

I was conflicted how to place final goji, as he goes through a very sudden change of heart at the end of his movie, and as such, I don't have all that much to talk about save that he decides not to destroy humanity because his son convinces him not to. So, I am going to talk about his anarcho-primitivism in the vein of Ted Kaczynski, just like the original Godzilla, which progresses to centrism of all things by the end of the movie. Before being frozen in a huge amount of ice, Godzilla was well on his way to destroying humanity, and civlization with it. But, he is stopped, and upon being freed, sees the earth being attacked by alien Fascists who want to turn humans into cattle. Godzilla does not give a shit about this, but sure as shit is not gonna let some Alien bastards come and fuck up HIS planet, so he kills them while chasing the humans who trapped him in the first place. Through his journey, he becomes connected with a human who shares a certain kind of power that he has, and a share a struggle of defeating the Xiliens. In succeeding, Godzilla is ready to go right back to his mission to wipe the earth of all human life, but is stopped by his son, who cares for humanity, and as such, he decides to leave humanity alone, so long as they leave him alone. In other words, he decides he'd rather just grill.

Monsterverse/Legendary Godzilla (2014-present): Authoritarian Eco-Communist

Godzilla is the King, the Supreme Leader, of the above ground, and he intends to keep it that way. He cares about the earth and the natural order of things, and what the natural order is depends entirely on his own personal definition, as he is the Supreme Leader, and you will not question the Supreme Leader, or you will die. And boy, will he kill you if you get in his way. Even former subservients and allies will fall to his overwhelming might if you so much as cross him, or if he needs something only your corpse can provide (see Tiamat). Sure, he protects humanity for now, but if humanity crosses him, not even his love Mothra could stop his murderous rampage.

Shin Godzilla (2016): Transhumanist Fascism

Willing to change and alter his form whenever it suits him, and with the goal of destroying anything that gets in his way in world domination, Shin Godzilla is a transhumanist force of nature, irony intended. He wants humanity gone, and replaced with his own superior race of Godzilla ubermensch, and he believed nothing could stop him. Too bad he discounted the efforts of briliant human minds, who stop him in his tracks (literally).

Godzilla Earth (2017): Ecological Monarchism

Godzilla is the King of a new earth that couldn't stop him from consuming it, shaping the whole of the world into his own image. Something close to a God of this new world, Godzilla violently protects his new Planet of Monsters with a power that humanity can only hope to live within, and never defeat. In the end, Godzilla doesn't mind humans living on his planet, so long as they remember who is their King.

Godzilla, Ultima (2021): ???????

Godzilla Ultima is a being beyond human comprehension as an Outer God, who consumes realities the way we might a sandwich. As such, he is beyond human understandings of politics and philosophy. He is Ultimate and he is Eternal. He is the great I Am.

Godzilla, Minus One (2023): Anarchic Anti-Imperialism

Like the original Godzilla, Godzilla Minus One wants to destroy humanity and civilization as we know it because of what they have done to him. He wants to see a world devoid of human corruption, which has invaded upon his natural world, and he delights in humanity's destruction, much like GMK Godzilla. But unlike GMK Godzilla, his desires are guided by the goal of purifying the world of what he might consider the sin of civilization and imperialism, hence him targeting imperial Japan. You may wonder why he is anti-imperialist but the original Godzilla isn't. Great question. Anyway, that's all the mainline Godzillas ordered chronologically as of their latest appearance!

Conclusion
